multi kernel - no compile
Hi, I choose kernel 2.4 as default at first install, but now I wanna try the 2.6. So I install it all from /extra.
Then I edit the lilo, and add the boot option to kernel 2.6 as in boot directory. Then restart but I cant see the option. I look back at /boot/vmlinuz and its linked to kernel 2.6, so I think slack automatically changed it, but when I "uname -a" it, it says kernel 2.4. I already browse for some help but there only guide for compiling, not just "adding" like what Im tryn to do. |
Could you post lilo.conf
|
Did you run the "lilo" command after editing /etc/lilo.conf ?

D'oh! I forgot, yes now Im done, thanks.
re-edit /etc/lilo.conf so the image is now directed to the specified kernel, no vmlinuz symlink. then run the /sbin/lilo reboot... thx, and sorry for my newbieness.. |
