Downloaded the file, tried to play and it seems to a problem with mplayer itself. PLays ok in xine and I seem to have had this problem since installing an audigy 4. So I've no idea what to do except take a chance on whether it will crash or not. Xine plugin doesnt seem to work at all.
Tried installing your 2 codec packs and any others I could find. Updated Alsa in case they have updated my module. Reinstalled mplayer. Nothing works.
Well I found a solution of sorts:
I found that I could play the file offline using the opengl driver, so I added vo=gl into ~/.mplayer/config and now it plays the video but in a separate window rather than embedded in the web page.
Seems xv driver is to blame so I will see about updating that, but at least it hasnt crashed yet (touch wood)
