Mouse scroll wheel changes web pages and other sauce...?
My xorg is messed up somehow. When I use the mousewheel to quickly it causes webpages to revert back to a previous one I have visited, when I use it slowly it scrolls normally. Heres the mouse section of xorg.conf, I dont ever remember using zaxis mapping with 4,5,6 and 7.
Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Mouse0"
Driver "mouse"
Option "Protocol" "auto"
Option "Device" "/dev/mouse"
Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5 6 7"
EndSection

You sure its not your browser? Some browsers have "Mouse Gestures" or similar options.

Also be sure than when you're using it 'quickly', you're not accidentally middle clicking. That might be a signal for a mouse gesture in whatever browser you're using.

Unless you've two wheels, it should be 4, 5 or 6, 7 depending on your mouse buttons, just try the different combinations.
By the way, try using "IMPS/2" as Protocol instead of "auto", sometimes it doesn't work correctly.

I recently had the same thing happen to me after editing ZAxisMapping from '4 5' to '6 7'. I changed it back, and voila.

I used to have the same problem. It happenned to me because my xorg.conf generated by xorgconfig was putting "4 5 6 7" for Zaxismapping. I changed it to the proper "4 5" and the problem went away for good. In my case, I only have 2 (technically 3 if you count pressing down the scroll wheel) buttons and a scrollwheel for my mouse. I think what was happening was that my browser was enterpretting as flicking the scrollup and scrolldown real fast as pressing button 6 and 7, which by default, must've been mapped to "go back one page" and "go forward one page" in my browser. They probably do that for convenience for the people who have to have an extra scrollwheel for scrolling horizontally, or have 2 extra buttons beyond the standard 3.
I wonder what happens for the 5 button mouse users though. If they flick their vertical mouse wheel, does it have that same problem? Because of course they'll probably want "4 5 6 7" for their Zaxismapping.
