Mouse not working in 14.1

So I have a Logitech usb mouse that I've always used on this laptop. Previously it worked out of the box (although it usually had to be unplugged and replugged once or twice to be picked up). But since installing 14.1 it does not function at all.

When the receiver is plugged into a usb port, dmesg show: http://pastebin.com/TdtiZfHU

lsmod shows the following line (which I think is the relevant one for usb input devices:
Code:
hid 87523 2 usbhid,hid_logitech_dj
xev shows nothing at all when trying to use the mouse.

I've got two usb mice and one usb keyboard (all wireless), and none work with the laptop. My other laptop running 14.1 can use all three devices without issue.

I'm not really sure where to proceed from here to get this mouse working.

is this one of them new-fangled Logitech unifying USB receivers? Switching between systems and using multiple devices (kb, mouse etc) can be tricky. From the pastebin it looks lke you have the unifying reciever: idVendor=046d, idProduct=c52b

It is, but the problem isn't with the unifying feature. The mouse just uses the receiver it came with and there aren't any other devices paired with it. Besides that, it worked fine under 14.0.

Hello,

Seems to be related to this bug (found in this thread).

Hope this helps.

Sounds right. I don't think the problem is with the kernel itself though because the same mouse works on the computer I'm using now (which is also slackware64 14.1).

Okay so I've solved the problem. By using ltunify to unpair and then re-pair my mouse and keyboard to the receiver, it fixed it.

I have no idea why this worked since the mouse and keyboard worked fine as-is on another 14.1 computer, but there it is. I apparently have to do this every time I start up the laptop or remove the receiver, but I can live with it. Problem fixed.
