Mouse/Keyboard/Lockup Problem

I have a USB Logitech Optical mouse. 6 times today it has stoped responding. When it did it first I thought no biggie I'll just restart x right? Wrong! Doing any kind of ctrl alt whatever lockes the keyboard or freezes the computer. I can't switch to a cli to fix anything and have to press the power button. That's annoying.

 I'm experiencing the same problem...It seems that in every single google search and forum I can find related to this... no one has any solid answers! And most of them just failed to reply, yet I see so many hits to these posted topics  is there anyone out there! TLDP just wont do here :study::tisk: .. HELP anyone knows why X crashes? when i touch my computer (move mouse etc) after I leave it idle for a little while.. it is a very inexplicable erratic pattern with no output whatsoever when it happens...numlock freezes, hard drive light wont blink anymore when i plug in my scanner the light does not come on, mouse pointer frozen (sometimes even disappear) argh i can never get to show off linux's uptime capabilty because of this.. and to me that sux folks :(
I hope i get lucky here....
