Mouse and keyboard not working in runlevel 4

I'm using Slackware 14.2 in a VirtualBox. Everything worked fine, until I installed Virtualbox GuestAdditions. After installing the GuestAdditions, I restarted the machine. Now, when I try to log in, neither the keyboard nor the mouse works. But everything works well in the LILO, boot screen(I tried ^C & ^Z) and when it asks for login id in console login, before starting X(It starts X and ignores whatever I type). How do I make them work?!?!

What wichn is implying is that you might not be assigned to the recommended groups for Slackware. If you use the adduser script, it will prompt you to add the user to the recommend groups. You can do that manually running the following command, replacing $USER with the username you want to add those groups to:

Code:
usermod -a -G lp floppy audio video cdrom plugdev power netdev scanner $USER
