Unhappy Mouse and keyboard hangs while shutting a kde session

Sorry if i am cross posting but the reason is that i the last post i was unable to address my problem properly..

my problem is that many a time when i want to shutdon the kde session i.e logoff kde and go to the shell prompt(i.e runlevel 3 i.e the default runlevel for Slackware) my keyboard and mouse hangs and nothing seems to help, not even pressing ctrl + alt + backspace.
So i have to simply press the reset button thereby resulting in an inappropriate shutdown.
I have used xorgconfig to configure X many times but nothing seeems to help.
is this a bug in KDE (i doubt so because i haven't seen a post addresssing this problem ever)?

Kindly help !!!

If remember correctly if you choose using X on slackware you have tty7 and tty8 for X and tty6 for console.

Try to use Alt+F6 or Ctr+Alt+F6.

Delete your '~/.kde' directory. (of course, save important stuff in there first).

that's the kde settings folder ... kde tends to mess it up once in a while ... try it, it's worked before, search the forum, you'll see.

If you don't trust me, just rename it to '.kde-crap' or something then restart kde.
