mount wd live tv local storage via command

Hello fellas,

I need your help , of course and here is the problem.

In my small home network i have my slackware laptop with ip x.x.x.3 and over WiFi the Wd Live Tv with ip x.x.x.4 and connected on it via USB an external disk.

So , now via thunar or dolphin if i navigate to smb://x.x.x.4 i successfully connect to the external disk which is connect to wdLiveTv.

I want to mount the 2 partition of external disk to my slackware laptop with the following command :
mount -t cifs \\x.x.x.4\partition_name \media\share1
although password needed in order to complete the process which i'm not aware....

My question is if anyone knows why is possible to connect with thunar , and not with mount command????
how could i see from logs perhaps, what happened when thunar or dolphin access the smb share.

nfs would be better (or if you can ssh into the htpc, remote mount it using sshfs).

i dont have a wdtv but a quick duckduckgo search reveals that something called brad firmware mite make this possible.
