Mount for all users?

Right now I have to switch to root to mount my dvd drive every time I want to insert a disk. Is there a way to set things up so that any user can insert a disk and be able to access it without having to mount the drive by switching to root?

You'll need to make sure the drive is properly setup in fstab, and that the option "user" is specified. Good options for a CD/DVD ROM drive would usually be "noauto, user".

Beyond that, make sure the user has read access to the drive (they should with the default Slackware permissions) and make sure that the user also has sufficient permissions on the mount point.
