most embarassing question ever

i used rh8 for about 6 months before deciding that it was not for me... at all. gentoo's portage wouldn't work with my school's network so i gave up on that. i dabbled with slack 8 but never successfully finished the install-- been having trouble finding an install guide until just now.

now i'm all pumped for slack 9 but i can't find the .iso file(s) on any of the install mirrors! helphelp...

btw, i'm runninx xp right now... i know the error of my ways, but just so you know... don't give me a bunch of nix commands. and i'm a sort of noob still. i can't say i've ever had this much trouble finding the iso file though.

ahh it's not that embarrasing... cos this one time.. at band camp...

every time i try to save it either:
says "this link could not be saved, may have been moved or name changeed...."
or
saves a 4.0 kb file under that name. unless its some new from-scratch install, and even then...

www.slackware.com -> Mirrors
or
Google

i really appreciate it, but i know to look in the mirrors and can't find any image files... are iso's of 9.0 just not out yet or something?

It seems that one have to wait a little for the official ISO - image , you can find it on some servers but not on others.

bandofmercy 03-24-2003 03:52 PM

so.. what do i download instead of an iso?

because all the servers offering them are pretty bogged down.

acid_kewpie 03-24-2003 04:23 PM

the linuxiso download works fine for me....

Plenty of ISOs on some of these sites...

justaguynsrq 03-24-2003 04:40 PM

That is where I got mine the night of it's release!
