Module loading error on boot

Greetings,
I am using Slackware 10.2, and kernel is version 2.4.31.
I am getting several errors, all of which look similar and related to hot-pluggable devices towards the end of the boot process.
I disabled hot-pluggable devvices support in menuconfig, but to no avail.
They are like this:
Code:
pcihp: PCI Hot Plug PCI Core version: 0.5
insmod: ..... init_module no such device
... Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect parameters, including invalid IO or IRC parameters
You may find more information in syslog or output from dmesg.
insmod: /lib/modules/2.4.31/kernel/drivers/hotplug/pciehp.o.gz: insmod pcihp failed
I will post the output of dmesg. This output is from a patched 2.4.31 kernel (the patch is 2.4.31-lck1). But I get the same errors with Slackware's default bare.i (2.4.31 vanilla) kernel image.

That's it.
I hope I can get rid of those messages.

Edit: When I pass nohotplug as kernel booting option, the messages disappear, but then my mouse doesn't work (USB mouse), and at the end of the boot process gpm gives an oops (since it can't find the mouse device)
-----------
Also there seem to be another different issue. Although I did enable HighMEM support (4 GB), I get that warning. I have 1 GB of RAM, and I am pretty sure it's not hardware related. Towards the top of dmesg:
Code:
Warning only 896MB will be used.
Use a HIGHMEM enabled kernel.
896MB LOWMEM available.
But I don't think this is related with my priginal issue. I just wanted to post it also, didn't want to open another thread for it.

Thanks in advance!

I solved it.
Made a link pointing to the correct modules directory, then recompiled hotplug support, and it sees my mouse proply. RAM problem is also solved
