LinuxQuestions.org - modprobe (possibly IRQ) problems with OLD sony laptop

Hello again everybody.
I'm reviving an old sony laptop I have laying around. It's a pentium 233mmx, 96M ram, 2G hd, etc. I have slack 10 up and running (without gnome and kde of course :D 2gigs is a squeeze).
Here's the problem. I'm trying to get ndiswrapper working with a D-Link DWL G-650 pcmcia card. I've had ndiswrapper working with about 4 differend cards (including this one) on 3 kernels, so I know what I'm doing there--that's why this isn't in the Wireless Networking forum. Ndiswrapper states that hardware is present, and everything is fine until I try to "modprobe ndiswrapper".

I am currently recompiling the 2.4.26 kernel with the Sony Vaio Programmable I/O compiled in (it was a module previously). I'm not really sure if this is what the errors were referring to or not. The "No such device" error in the first line of errors worries me a bit...like maybe ndiswrapper is not working with the sonypi module. As it's probably going to take me an hour to rebuild the kernel, I figured I'd post here to see if anyone had encountered similar problems. One other thing that I noticed is that my IRQ's seem a bit screwy. Seems like I have a lot of devices using IRQ 11 (video, cardbus, ethernet, and wireless according to lspci -v). I'm wondering if this could be an IRQ conflict. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. Thanks
