mkinitrd problem

first time trying to compile a kernel and am having a little problem. Getting the VFS error and i believe its due modules not being loaded (initrd?). read the readme in /boot/ for it and it says to install a pkg named kernel-modulesx.x.x.tar or something along those lines but i can't find anything like that and the slackware site only shows the 2.4.26? package. heres what i get when i run this command

root@xaos:/boot# mkinitrd -c -k 2.6.10 -m reiserfs
WARNING: Could not find module for "reiserfs"

where can i get the kernel-modules package for 2.6.10 or will 2.4.x work? where does mkinitrd look for the module files at? a link to a tutorial on howto do this would be nice too... been looking but couldn't really find anything. found alot of stuff to compile the kernel but nothing with initrd. thanks

I use the 2.6.10 kernel and i dont use mkinitrd. I have sata, ide and scsi hdd all reiserfs, i build my kernel with all my chipsets and filesystems built in not modular and have no probs. WARNING: Could not find module for "reiserfs" i am presuming that u have built this in2 your kernel and not as a module hence the missing module.
