Missing Konsole fixed fonts
Hello
Okay, so I have a fresh install of Slackware 10.0. Everything is going smoothly so far. Got all my hardware detected, recompiled the kernel, etc.. Now the only problem I keep having is that the KDE Konsole only lists 3 fixed-width fonts. There use to be a lot more (I mean the fixed-misc-? fonts). I've googled this and others have had the same problem but with Debian. Does anyone know what happened to them? The Control Center > System Administration > Font installer lists the fonts I'm talking about (the ones in fonts:misc/ ) But I can't seem to make them available system wide under KDE. Help! these awful default fonts are hurting my eyes! Thanks in advance. |
You might need to install some font packages for X. Seems like you are missing them. With Debian I would have installed xfonts-konsole. You will need to find your alternative...

It's fixed!
This is a strange one. First I upgraded the udev package from 26 to the most recent version (I think it was 42). Then I rebooted the machine. Now all of the fixed width fonts are back. I don't know what the udev package is for (I don't think it's related to fonts) but it seems to have fixed the problem. |
