Missing icons from gnome-icon-theme in -current

Some icons that belong to gnome-icon-theme do not seem to be installed. How to reproduce: open up thunar, select some files and copy them to another folder. The little icon that shows in the dialog box is not there. It's easier to notice if you use a relatively slower media, such as a USB flash drive.
Opening up Midori, I get the following notice (apologize my shabby translation):
Quote:
(midori:2660): Gtk-WARNING **: Error loading theme icon 'stock_new-tab' for stock: The icon "stock_new-tab" is not present in the theme

(midori:2660): Gtk-WARNING **: Error loading theme icon 'gnome-stock-trash' for stock: The icon "gnome-stock-trash" is not present in the theme

(midori:2660): Gtk-WARNING **: Error loading theme icon 'web-browser' for stock: The icon "web-browser" is not present in the theme

(midori:2660): Gtk-WARNING **: Error loading theme icon 'gnome-web-browser' for stock: The icon "gnome-web-browser" is not present in the theme

(midori:2660): Gtk-WARNING **: Error loading theme icon 'vcard' for stock: The icon "vcard" is not present in the theme

(midori:2660): Gtk-WARNING **: Error loading theme icon 'package' for stock: The icon "package" is not present in the theme

(midori:2660): Gtk-WARNING **: Error loading theme icon 'gtk-save' for stock: The icon "gtk-save" is not present in the theme

(midori:2660): Gtk-WARNING **: Error loading theme icon 'stock_add-bookmark' for stock: The icon "stock_add-bookmark" is not present in the theme
In order to test it, I installed Arch Linux in a vm, installed Midori and had the same problems. After I installed gnome-icon-theme, all icons started to appear.

Perhaps these problems are due to me not having configured the applications well enough. In that case, I apologize for crying wolf.

this happens to me when I use KDM to start the Gnome session. But when I use GDM to start Gnome I do not have this problem. Think it has to do with the KDM scripts.

I'm not installing GDM just to fix a couple of icons. I boot into runlevel 3. I don't have these problems with gnome-session because I didn't install Gnome. I have them in Fluxbox, KDE and XFCE. The screenshot is from Fluxbox.

In my test with Arch I used Slim as the display manager and LXDE as the DE (duh!) and the icons showed in Midori. I didn't install Thunar there.

No problem. And I apologize for my obnoxious first reply. I was having a bad day and really shouldn't have posted anything then.

It's not exactly a fix, but there's a workaround: add the line ---gtk-fallback-icon-theme = "Tango"--- to your ~/.gtkrc-2.0 The problem goes away, but it's not really a solution.
