Anybody tried to install miro on slackware? It seems to have a pile of python module dependencies and i don't have a list or the knowledge/energy to install them one by one.
Well, if you don't want to install the dependencies for the program, then it seems you have a bit of a problem then. What exactly did you hope we could do for you in this situation?
Maybe someone knows of a package? Or some easy way to install the dependencies? Or at least have a list of dependencies and an idea about where to get them and how to install them?
Miro requires a series of components and libraries to exist on your system in order to compile it. This includes subversion, python2.4, libboost-python-dev, libboost-filesystem-dev, libboost-thread-dev, libboost-serialization-dev, libboost-date-time-dev, python-gnome2-dev (python bindings for gconf), python-gnome2-extras-dev (python bindings for gtkmozembed), python2.4-pyrex, python2.4-gtk2, python2.4-glade2, libxine-dev, python-pysqlite2, libxv-dev, libx11-dev, and either libxul-dev or both mozilla-dev and mozilla-psm,.
We strongly recommend installing libxine-extracodecs as well if it is legal in your area.
You might have to substitute libnss3 for mozilla-dev and mozilla-psm.
Thanks, but before I go looking for how to install python-gnome bindings on Slackware, I hope to hear from someone else who actually did (or tried and failed to) install Miro on Slackware.
