miniperlmain.o error on perl compile

I'm doing my first compile on Slack, a Perl install. Everything is textbook until I type make, when I get the following error

Code:

make: *** [miniperlmain.o] Error 1

I've done a slocate for the file and it isn't there, the same for some other .o files in the compile listing. Can anyone tell me what is going on?

Well I've sorted it. Basically I went back to Slack disk 1 and installed everything from it and that seemed to sort it. Not very scientific, but time is against me.
