minidlna (a.k.a. readymedia) thumbnails display on clients

We recently purchased an lg bp-530 dvd/blueray box with built in wireless. I have tried streaming to this box with mediatomb and minidlna both compiled from slackbuilds. Both could be found on the lg/client but with mediatomb I could not use the the lg's controller to fast forward/backward or stop. There appears to be possible solutions to this via mediatomb's config file and additional scripting. However, videos presented by the minidlna server do respond to the controller so I am using it to stream videos.

My one problem is that video thumbnails are not displayed either on the tv (via the lg bp-530) or in vlc on my slack desktop or daughter's mac. Thumbnails are in the directory with videos and created with a thumbnailer script provided by minidlna's deveolper.

Is anyone on this list using minidlna and having thumbnails show up on client displays?

Have got thumbnails for videos and mp3 albums on my Samsung smart TV, but no thumbnails at all on my Sony Bluray player. Am using ffmpegthumbnailer to generate video thumbnails. Music thumbnails are embedded in mp3 files. Also am using latest minidlna 1.1.2 from developer's site.

Thanks @phi11ip, sorry I missed this, I'm thinking that this is a matter of works in some makes/models but not all and I'll mark it solved.
