I can't get midi playing in my slackware box. I have normal sound trough ALSA and never had problems. Is there any how-to available for this? I've tried kmid with no suiccess and timidity doesn't work because i could not get a .cfg file...

I have a timidity++ package available and because patch sets are so big, I wrote a README that contains links to various midi patch sets. It has some configuration examples as well: http://www.slackware.com/~alien/slac...ADME.slackware

Thanks for your reply Alien Bob.
Anyway i've done some searches and i already got timidity working. Here's what i did.

1.Download this GUS patch package and extract it into /usr/local/share
2.Download Timidity++ and install it.

After this I was already able to play any midi file using timidity x.mid

Hope it helps
