Looks like new mesa-21.0.3 ruin hardware accelerated Libreoffice7.1.3 again.

Issue libreoffice --> "Application error"
Take a look at my post:

Yesterday's Slackware-current update mesa-21.1.0
Same error.
libreoffice --safe-mode -- > "Disable hardware acceleration" solve the issue.
But this must not be a permanent (final) solution.
The ball is stil on mesa developers side.

Works ok here with hardware acceleration enabled, GPU (and driver) is NVidia (signature machine).

Could this help?
Run at terminal (1.4 or 2.1)
MESA_GL_VERSION_OVERRIDE=1.4 libreoffice

I'm on hd4000 graphics just before yours and Libreoffice is fine. Mesa is a well tested piece of software. Look elsewhere.

HD4000 is intel graphics gen7 and HD 530 is gen9.

Quote:
In Mesa 20.0, the Iris driver is promoted to be the default for Gen8+.
https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/int...L_Driver_(i965)

Try this workaround (really had to scramble to remember it again).
Code:
MESA_LOADER_DRIVER_OVERRIDE=i965 libreoffice
Background info:
https://linuxreviews.org/Intel_Iris#..._vs_Intel_i965

I'm on UHD 620, and with kernel 5.10.35 and mesa 21.0.3 apparently don't need this workaround. I'll update after upgrading to todays -current with kernel 5.10.36 and mesa 21.1.0.

HD 620 with 5.10.36 and mesa 21.1.0 is also fine for me.
But I have some hope that this is your problem, zdolar.

Here at home everything is running smoothly... I reported this same problem a couple of months ago on a machine at my Faculty's office to which I have no access right now. I'll check this next Monday.

Kernel: 5.12.3 x86_64 Up: 30m Mem: 2006.5/7831.6 MiB (25.6%)
...
Graphics:
  Device-1: Intel Xeon E3-1200 v3/4th Gen Core Processor Integrated Graphics
  driver: i915 v: kernel
  Display: server: X.Org 1.20.11 driver: loaded: modesetting unloaded: vesa
  resolution: 1920x1080~60Hz
  OpenGL: renderer: Mesa DRI Intel HD Graphics 4600 (HSW GT2)
