Has this been upstreamed?
I couldn't find any bug report or reverted in git.
Maybe i just missed it.

Not yet... I'd welcome any help with that. Perhaps just point them to this thread.

On one of my VM's, even Xvnc (tigervnc-1.10.1) was impacted. After upgrading, Xvnc failed to start. Thx for the fix.

I think this has been quietly reverted upstream. I just did a new git clone and checkout of the 19.3.4 release tag on my Manjaro, and I thought I'd use the Slackware patch because it looked more complete than the Arch one (I think they already have fixed sources and just chopped out the regex code for "simplification"). Imagine my surprise that it's already fixed. I looked at:

src/gallium/drivers/swr/rasterizer/codegen/templates/gen_knobs.cpp
src/gallium/drivers/swr/rasterizer/common/os.h

Disregard, I had this backwards. It's patch -R. Don't understand why my git tag checkout worked (unpatched) on Manjaro this time. Things that make you go hmm when you're up all night.
