Question MegaDrive Control on linux


I have a mega drive control pad and I have already made the cable to connect it to my Paralelal port, but how do I make my slack see the control ??

I remember that there is a windows drivers, but for linux anyone know how do I do this?

By chance, I just stumbled upon what you are looking for when I was compiling 2.6.12.

The driver you are looking for is:

Device Drivers -> Input device support -> Joysticks -> Multisystem, Sega Genesis, Saturn joysticks and gamepads

You will have to include Parallel port and joystick support as well, if you haven't already.

read kernel documentation about gamecon

on my psx card i need to: modprobe gamecon gc=0,7
change '7' with a lower number (i forgot the number for sega mega drive )

sorry, i was wrong...

sega megadrive joypad on parallel port supported by db9.o module.

so try: modprobe db9

dont forget for other module dependencies like input.o, joydev.o, parport.o, parport_pc.o

do you get error message when modprobing?

a simple test to check if joystick working or not try:
od -xw8 /dev/js0
