My System Restarted abruntly due to my Ineffecient UPS when there was power outage. And after this I am unable to access the Net from Linux, though am able to do so from windows.

I have tried netconfig several times

I am also unable to access the router configuration page (192.168.1.1)

I managed to reolve the problem. It was a DNS problem

i added
Code:

nameserver <my DNS addr>
to /etc/resolv.conf

and now everything is back to normal, but i wonder, why did such a stange thing happen
and also why did't netconfig correct this error though it asks for my DNS addres

I am glad you got it working :) I hear you about the netconfig. I had a similar problem that for some reason it wouldn't update stuff my network settings except if I was to set it to dhcp... very strange.

I gave up using netconfig and just edited my config maually like you have.

I wonder if netconfig or somthing else has a bug in it.
