maplyer - video and audio problems

I use mplayer 1.0 pre5-3.3.4 and I'm having some problems with both the video and audio. The video problem is that I can't have full screen. I have tried different -vo options but nothing works. I currently use the X11 driver.
The audio issue is that the sound comes with a delay when playing video-files. I use the esd driver.

This is very annoying so any help would be nice.

why can't you have fullscreen? kinda helps you expand a little... there is one hangup with the x11 output, in that you need to add the "-zoom" option to scal the video to fullscreen etc... i bet that's it.

audio delay? 200ms? yeah that's (according to the developers, which i refuse to believe) down to cheap soundcards or something. i have that too though... it's a sync problem in mplayer i say... i just often hit "-" twice and all's ok.

For the sound thing, try using other output, type: mplayer -ao help
and it will show you a list, try them. (you can try the same for video, it's -vo help)
