Make slackpkg prefer /extra over /slackware when listing packages to update
How do you make slackpkg prefer packages in /extra over the core default packages in /slackware? For instance, I have firefox-2.0.0.3 installed and slackpkg wants to install the firefox 1.5.x.x from /slackware rather than the recently released 2.0.0.4.
I've tried a few things in the slackpkg.conf file but it doesn't help. I saw a setting that set the order of directories that get downloaded by slackpkg but that was no good. Anyway, if you have any ideas I'd appreciate them. Thanks. |
I figured it out. About two seconds after I posted the above it dawned on me what I was doing wrong.
I had to change /extra to be preferred over /slackware but not over /patches. OOPS. :P |
