make menuconfig problem

Hi everyone,

The other day I ran mkinitrd and it didn't work properly and actually somehow made it so that i got a kernel panic whenever I tried to boot linux. I deleted a bunch of stuff and now i can start linux ok but now whenever i try to recompile my kernel and go to run make menuconfig it gives me an error:

HOSTCC scripts/basic/split-include
In file included from /usr/include/linux/errno.h:4,
from /usr/include/bits/errno.h:25,
from /usr/include/errno.h:36,
from scripts/basic/split-include.c:26:
/usr/include/asm/errno.h:4:31: asm-generic/errno.h: No such file or directory
make[1]: *** [scripts/basic/split-include] Error 1
make: *** [scripts_basic] Error 2

I thought about installing some pakages from my slack cd's but i figured i would give the forums a try since i tend to cause more problems for myself than i solve Please help!

I had the same problem today too. I actually had installed the 2.6.10 kernel from the testing directory. I removed it today and installed the 2.6.12 source. I think in the process of removing the 2.6.10 kernel, it might've actually removed something important. If I can't figure out what it is, I might just go ahead and whipe out the machine or wait until Slackware 10.2 comes out.

Try installing kernel-headers package and/or installing the kernel-sources again-
