Lumina / dropbox problem - Slackware

Slackware64 - 14.2 -- Lumina DE absolutely refuses to load dropbox. KDE, XFCE and Fluxbox have no issues with dropbox.

I am making an effort to get used to Lumina but EGAD is it buggy

Some other things won't load in Lumina too but only if you need to know will I muddy this thread with those details

Your post mentions dosbox, but your example log shows dropbox.
Wat gives?

Have you tried loading qtfm abvailable from slackbuidls.org? I notice that Lumina's included file manager (Insight or lumina-fm) is missing some features which in Linux we take for granted under WM/DE's, like self mounting of removable media. I wonder if dropbox would act correctly with qtfm loaded. Oh you change the file manager in the Preferences page for Defauld Apps. Cheers, Brian

UPDATE
Since I have a dropbox account I tried this myself. I installed Dropbox 63 from Slackbuilds.org. I then started dropbox. It popped up a window indicating I had lost the default Dropbox folder and please move it to /home/<user>/ which I did. Then when I started dropbox there is indeed nothing to see, or systemtray window. I'll report this on github and wait for answer from developer and report back. The dropbox.desktop icon is added to the desktop, and clicking on it will start the application in the background, it just that a systemtray icon is not established to access the features and preferences.

You mean you actually accomplished getting dropbox to run? I haven't been able to do that with Lumina yet

EDIT - Had no idea why the file manager would make a difference but I tried. No change. Dropbox will not load and run in Lumina. I even upgraded Lumina to 1.4.0 and it made no difference

Yes I did get it to run in the background, verified with HTOP. What I didn't get is a systemtray icon to access the features. I provide more updates when I have feedback from Ken Moore.

I recommended qtfm, because I noticed that lumina-fm's insight was missing some simple features, probably ones that TrueOS incorporate under BSD.
It is not a requirement, but might help with transistion to lumina-fm. Note that there are other add-on's like Lumina-mediaplayer, and lumina-pdf which need additional packages. Read the notes on the Lumina-desktop git or in the docs.
Cheers.

Yes, in the background is where I found it shortly before reading your post. Wonder what the issue will turn out to be?

EDIT - Well, I just verified that dropbox works by dropping a file in the Dropbox folder and retrieving it with my phone. Just no icon in the tray
