looking for a cheap linux-compatible webcam

I'm using slackware 14.1 on a lenovo T430s laptop.
I'm looking for a webcam that I could use on skype.
I was wondering if the logitech C270 would work.
I saw somewhere on the web that all uvc compatible webcams should and
this one is on the list.
Does anybody use this webcam or could you recommend another one.

thanks

I have a LifeCam HD3000. Despite being from Microsoft, it works quite well

Shouldn't be that expensive, either.

that definitely not "cheap", but nowadays hits - chinese cheap "gopro clone" works also as a webcamera - i test it on slack64 14.1 on a skype.
price on SJ4000 is about 100 USD, but it is a very good as you can use it not only as webcam, but also a fullhd action cam too

Doesn't your T430s already have integrated webcam? I was under impression that all recent T series models have them. At least my T430 does (and it works on Slackware).

Greetz
Just my $0.02 - I have a Logitech 310 USB that iirc cost around $40 USD that worked out of the box. All my comm apps work fine excepting Skype having one minor annoyance. I have to go into Options each time I launch Skype and change the mic from "USB Device" to something else, and then back again. As I understand it this is because I don't use PulseAudio but it is minor enough for the few times I use Skype that I don't mind.

The small models don't have one. I have a 14" T400 and it lacks a webcam, too.

I have a couple Logitech C300s I use on Raspi's running Slackware Arm and operating remotely with wireless. Work out of the box, reasonable image quality, and most important for me they don't require much power although I haven't been able to sort out how many milliamps they actually use. You should be able to still find them in a box at swap meets or on ebay.
