Locking the computer

Here's another question that I have:

I use xlock to lock my computer when I'm away from it, and it works great for that purpose... with one caveat - when the computer is idle, it turns the monitor off to conserve power. When I come back, and it powers back on, the computer is unlocked (xlock is completely gone), and even without having to type in any passwords. Thoughts?

Use xscreensaver instead? Maybe xlock has problems with
APM, google for it.

Cheers,
