Location of KDE not in /opt/kde

Does anyone know the reason why KDE isn't any longer in /opt/kde in Salckware 12, as it has been in former versions ?

I personally liked it much better under /opt/kde, because it was cleanly separated from "normal" system- and commandline progs.

I think it was a FHS guideline ... I am not sure though

From Pat's Changelog (Sat Feb 17 20:25:54 CST 2007):
Quote:

Note: KDE is now being built with --prefix=/usr, not --prefix=/opt/kde.
This makes it much easier to follow freedesktop.org's recommendations for
unifying the various Linux desktops. IMO, now that X.Org has made
--prefix=/usr the standard for X11, this is an obviously better place for
KDE and XFce (which was always there ;-), too.
