Loadlin problem

Hello.
I new here, but i think i can find help in this forum.
My problem:
- Installation of a slack 10.2: no problem, all is fine, Xorg is ok .

With a lilo reboot all is fine too.

For differents reasons (ghost copy), i need to book with loadlin
I use loadlin16c

When pc boot with loadlin, xorg doesn't work !! No screens found.
I start lilo, reboot the system. Xorg work !

The kernel is 2.4.31.

What is the problem.

I use the line
c:\linux\loadlin c:\linux\zimage root=/dev/hda2 ro vga=3

Thanks for help, and excuse my poor english

What is this zimage? Is that the regular 2.4.31 kernel renamed, or are you using the lowmem kernel. That's the only Slack kernel which is a zimage (not bzimage). The lowmem zimage has no support for X.

Thanks for your help.
I use the same kernel with normal boot (with lilo) and with loadlin.
And X doesn't want to work with the loadlin boot !
What appended ? Is there a ma,ipulation with initrd to do ?
Is there a problem with the video memory with the msdos boot ??? I don't undestand.
I did the same thing since long years with slack 7, 7.1 an 9 ! Never have a same problem !

And I want absoluty this 10.2 for my teaching !

try re-running xorgconfig after booting with loadlin and see if it works.
Also, look at dmesg after running x fails to see if there are error messages which might help.
Are you booting from DOS or Windows?

I ve found the problem !!!!! Yes !!!
I don't know exactly what do the DOS with the video memory, but the lines with the high memory gestion and another lines for country codes was the problem.
Without this lines (so with nothing in config.sys and just the @call linux.bat (wich have the loadlin command)), it works !!!!
1 day for that ......

Thanks a lot.
