LISa daemon - why is it SO difficult to get running?!

I installed the vanilla Slackware 12.1 on two PCs - LISa daemon does not come as standard it seems... Am I wrong?

I have downloaded 2 different LISa packages, and both 'makes' fail, so I am unsure how to get this damn thing working

Surely this can't be that hard??!!

Is this the program you are talking about?
Code:
lisa -v

This is the LAN Information Server LISa 0.2.3
It is free software according the GNU General Public License
Copyright (c) 2000-2003 by Alexander Neundorf
email: neundorf@kde.org
It appears to be installed, but not configured under a default installation of Slackware 12.1

Read the lisa doc ?
cat /usr/share/apps/lisa/README

Lisa seems to be installed by the kdenetwork package btw

Thanks for that - plenty of info.

But does no-one else actually have LISa running, and so can post their various config files..?

run this command to see where lisa is on you system:

Code:
~$ which lisa
/usr/bin/lisa
Then put this (edited for your location of lisa) in /etc/rc.d/rc.local
Code:
/usr/bin/lisa
add any option you may want here as well.
You can configure lisa from the kde control panel. I'm not a big user though, so that's all I can add.
