Question Linux LiveCD Router

hi i have downloaded this software and I cannot get it to work. It boots to login I then enter root and cdrouter as password. i then get root@cdrouter:#

where do i go from here I dont know any commands for it to boot into its interface. I have tried startx and kdm but dont work. i can access the cdrouter pc from a 192.168.1.1 but when i click on the admin page which is 192.168.1.1:10000 I get page cannot be displayed.

Any help would be great I am only trying to make use of an old pc I have lying around and turn it into an access point

Which live cd have you downloaded? Have you tried running xorgconfig to set-up x windows?

Router distributions typically don't have X11 installed. I would suggest reading the documentation for the particular cd you are using.

if you are trying to access the admin page using a web browser you need to make sure there is a webserver running on your router. as the previous poster said you need to look at the documentation. some commands you might find useful are: route which displays your routing table and ifconfig which shows you what ip addresses have been assigned to your network adapters

the livecd webpage is wifi.com.ar

I can ping the livecd router and it brings up a page in the browser from 192.168.1.1 but the menus dont work.
maybe someone can download it and have a go as its only 82mb.
