Linux-HA heartbeat on slackware64


im getting troubles by tring to compile heartbeat on slack64, anybody has checked this? and/or solved?

Also.. heartbeat is effectively being deprecated by Pacemaker:

Hi,

That's not correct as far as I know, heartbeat is not deprecated but the load balancer ldirectord that was used is. Pacemaker is the resource manager that works on top of the heartbeat layer.

Please consult correct information here.

Unfortunately it's nowhere near as simple as that; I didn't go into detail as I didn't feel it was needed.

Yes, Pacemaker is not a one-to-one swap for heartbeat and Pacemaker can be run on top of heartbeat, but it is recommended to use pacemaker on top of corosync which is more like a one-for-one replacement but still isn't quite and relies on some heartbeat components.

Suffice to say that using heartbeat is "the old way" using pacemaker on corosync (/openais) is "the new way".

finally i've solved the problem, using a FC14 rpm, and converted it to txz, now i've got all what i need.
