Linux Distros


I am gonna download an ISO image and I want to know what's the difference between i586 and PPC, which one is the one for newest computers? I have a Pentium IV, 512 MB Ram

Hi,

you need to download the i586 one. It is for your processor!!
The PPC Version is for another CPU. (like macs)

PPC = Power Personal Computer (I think that's what it stands for) and its pretty much only for Mac's, not just different CPU's.
