Linksys Wireless NIC and Slackware...help?
I'm trying to get my Linksys card to work under Slackware. I am completely lost, but I stumbled across this website.
There is a link on that site with what I think are drivers for my card, but I don't know what to do with the files, or if they really are drivers. What is it that I'm supposed to do with those BZ2 files, or am I in the wrong spot?

Hi,
There are two different wifi programs I know of: ndiswrapper and madwifi (for atheros). You need to find out which one (probably ndiswrapper) supports your card and then install it. Then you need the driver (.inf) which is usually on the cd that came with your card.

That worked like a charm, however it gave me a warning about stack size. Will this be something that may affect me later on, and how would I accomodate for it?

Stack size
http://www.linuxant.com/driverloader.../downloads.php
Read Heading " Note about kernel stack size:"
I use Driverloader and it works great. It's not free but I have no problem paying for usefull software. Anyway, you can visit the patches page and if your feeling brave, patch and then recompile your kernel. Who knows if you really even need to or not, just thought I'd mention it...

On Slackware that warning is pretty meaningless as the stock kernels don't have the 4K stack problems. The usual symptom of problems with this are system crashes, so if that happens a lot, then it should be investigated. However, I've never seen this with the Slackware kernels.
If your card does have a Broadcom chipset, then the site you linked to in your first post is relevant. I've been using those drivers for about a month now and they are reasonble. They are under active development and are not finished yet (from what I can tell, WEP, but not WPA is supported) but they do work.
