When I run liloconfig, I got this error message:

can't open /proc/distributions

What's wrong?

Okay, I give up.

How would one possibly get a "can't open /proc/distributions" error with liloconfig? Unless you enter it into your lilo.conf file by accident, perhaps during running liloconfig. If so edit (uh, do you have an editor installed? if not, install something like "midnight commander" using pkgtools and use "mcedit" as your editor, then "mc" as an "xtree" kind of thing) your /etc/lilo.conf, find the like that has it in it and fix it. (Easier said than done, right?) If you post your lilo.conf file to this group and the output of "fdisk -l" we could probably help you.

Oh, and what do you *want* to be able to do with your system?
