LILO problem with booting
When my system boots and the prompt 'LILO' (I can't remember if there should be a colon or not) appears, I cannot make my choice for system boots(Win95, linux, Caldera). The computer waits for about 5 seconds and then boots Win95, the first selection in my lilo.conf file. The system does not respond when I press the TAB key.
I have run and re-run /sbin/lilo, and each time the output is the same:
Added Win95
Added linux
Added Caldera
My lilo.conf file is located in my linux partition, hda2. Since I can't boot either linux or Caldera, I'm using Tom's Root/Boot disk to boot my computer and run the /sbin/lilo command.
It's been so long since I ran lilo(The computer ran fine until recently), I must be forgetting something. Any ideas?

I think you need to type the name of the "choice" at the lilo prompt. I think you are not using any graphical lilo. (And I think there is a colon after the prompt)
So, if you want to boot Caldera...try typing Caldera and press enter.
LILO: Caldera [RETURN KEY]
This might work out....If this is not working, please post the contents of your lilo.conf
Regards,
Satish.

Here's my lilo.conf file.
# LILO configuration file
# generated by 'liloconfig'
#
#Start LILO global section
append="cdu31a=0x300,0"
boot = /dev/hda
#compact # faster, but won't work on all systems
delay = 50
vga = normal # force sane state
# ramdisk = 0 # paranoia setting
# End LILO global section
# DOS bootable partition config begins
other = /dev/hda1
label = win95
table = /dev/hda
# DOS bootable partition config ends
# Linux bootable partition config begins
image = /vmlinuz
label = linux
read-only
# Linux bootable partition config ends
# Linux bootable partition config begins
image = /vmlinuz-2.0.35
label = caldera
read-only
# Linux bootable partition config ends
I hope this helps.
By the way, how does one copy a file into this message rather than typing it as I did here?

egag, nosaku, and cythrawll:
Thanks for all your help. I added 'prompt' and changed 'delay' to 300 as per the suggestion of egag and, Presto, it worked!
