Lilo boot disk on floppy

I have not been able to put LILO on a floppy to boot up Slackware on a computer that has only ATA100 drives on it. I just get 10101010101 forever or LI over and over again. It is the same with Slackware 8.0 8.1.01 and 9.0 RC2 it works fine on an almost identical box execpt that it has one regular HD. I have no problems useing the boot disk to get SlackWare to load. Any ideas on what the problem might be? It would be nice to have the LILO boot disk working I never load LILO on the MBR or on the HD as i usually run several OS's and just don't like to do it that way also if this happens on the MBR it would be more annoying.

You may want to post your lilo.conf and the commands you use to get Lilo on floppy. It would make for better troubleshooting.
You may be wise to hold off installing to MBR until you "get it right".

OK I just used the setup script to creat a LILO boot disk on a floppy always worked before. Here is the lilo.conf

# LILO configuration file
# generated by 'liloconfig'
#
# Start LILO global section
boot = /dev/fd0
#compact # faster, but won't work on all systems.
prompt
timeout = 300
# Normal VGA console
vga = normal
# ramdisk = 0 # paranoia setting
# End LILO global section
# Linux bootable partition config begins
image = /boot/vmlinuz
root = /dev/hdg5
label = Linux
read-only # Non-UMSDOS filesystems should be mounted read-only for checking
# Linux bootable partition config ends
# DOS bootable partition config begins
other = /dev/hde1
label = Windows
# map-drive = 0x80
# to = 0x81
# map-drive = 0x81
# to = 0x80
table = /dev/hde
# DOS bootable partition config ends

Looks normal to me maybe I will try to install LILO by hand but this should work. Also on another box I now have to hit a key to see the selection menu with a LILO floppy boot disk I just created after the other one went south strange.
