LibreOffice crashing on cross reference.

Slackware 14.2 32-bit, LibreOffice 6.2.2 from slackbuilds (rpm version). Starting from terminal.

Create a new text document. Write a word, insert page break. Write a word in second page. Select "Insert "->"Field" -> "More Fields" or "Insert"->"Cross reference". LibreOffice crashes instantly, without any message, either in terminal or otherwise.

Tried setting SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN to other values. Tried various WMs (fluxbox, xfce, even twm). Also tried changing locale. Crash persists.

Can anyone reproduce that? Is there any solution?

Do you have any registered databases in LibreOffice? Use Tools > Options, LibreOffice Base > Databases to see. Because there are some LibreOffice bug reports about Writer trying to connect to every single registered database when you use Insert -> Cross Reference. Maybe you have a bad database listed? It's a long shot but worth a look.

Yes, this was the problem! A forgotten 8-year old test database in odb format. Even trying to open this database crashes LibreOffice. Removing it from the list solves the problem. Thank you, ljb643.
