OK getting somewhere.

For the Drop-Down List in question if I change the control to have a black background I can always see the text.

With that change I'm supposed to get black text on a black background, but what I'm getting is white text on a black background.

I've now tested on a clean install in Kubuntu 17.10 which comes with LibreOffice 5.4.2.2 pre-installed. Has the same problem.

So this problem is not specific to LibreOffice running under KDE on Slackware.

Also ascertained that I don't need a black background to see the text. All I need to do is click somewhere else on the form.

So likely scenario is that this specific control is not being fully repainted after a change.

If I moved some files out of the way
Code:
cd /opt/libreoffice5.4/program
mv libvclplug_kde4lo.so libvclplug_kde4lo.so.aik
mv libkde4be1lo.so libkde4be1lo.so.aik
Then logged out and back in the problem goes away..

Those two files are supplied within the libobasis5.4-kde-integration-5.4.4.2-2.x86_64.rpm package

Code:
rpm2cpio libobasis5.4-kde-integration-5.4.4.2-2.x86_64.rpm | cpio -idmv
./opt/libreoffice5.4
./opt/libreoffice5.4/program
./opt/libreoffice5.4/program/libkde4be1lo.so
./opt/libreoffice5.4/program/libvclplug_kde4lo.so
685 blocks

No idea what either file does. Leaving them out for now.

This is a known regression in LibreOffice 109353. Updated the bug report with my information. Also bisected the code to what may be the culprit update.
