libidn.so missing

Hi. I just installed KDE 3.4.1 with Slackware 10.1. Problem is, whenever I do startx, X server starts and displays a message
[b]Could not start kdeinit. Please check your installation.[b]
and then crashes. And I get a message stating the libidn.so is missing although I have installed it. Can anybody help me?

Slackware 10.1 contains KDE version 3.3.2. Where did you get 3.4.1 version ? Where did you get libidn package ? Are libidn dependencies resolved (ldd /usr/lib/libidn.so) ?
Be warned packges for Slackware current are built on and for Slackware current not for 10.1 .

As dunric stated, that version may not work correctly since I don't think it will match all the libraries it was compiled with. But you can try anyway

As for where I got it, I downloaded it, of course. And if it doesn't work with Slackware 10.1, what does it work with? And besides, my friend installed and it's working fine. I downloaded libidn from it's website.

But KDE doesn't work even after installing it.
