Leechcraft: How to invoke Poshuku?
Hi everyone,
recently I was browsing SBo and came across Leechcraft. The description looked promising, so I decided to give it a try. However, while the build process runs through smoothly, and while I can invoke Leechraft, I just cannot use the web browser module Poshuku. In the drop-down list of plug-ins there in only one entry for "downloads".
My question is: Has anyone managed to get Poshuku working on Slackware 14.1? How did you achieve this? I can open tabs with Ctrl-T, but how would I open a web page in the internet?
Thanks a lot for any useful hints,
gargamel

i was conversating with the developers, they recommend to install leechcraft from the git, but you'll need to install some additional dependencies
First, look here: http://leechcraft.org/development-building-from-source
And if you want some additional support, you may find developers at xmpp conference: leechcraft@conference.leechcraft.org
It might be useful, cause there can be many errors when compiling.
The "stable" releases are to be more stable. but they are released not very often, so you deside what to use.
P.S. before joining the conference, you may need to set encoding to UTF-8
i hope, i helped you

Thanks, good tips, although I'll defer building from GIT source due to a lack of time for such a (potentially very time-consuming) project.
Has anyone managed to build Leechcraft with Poshuku (the web browser component) on Slackware 14.1 (multilib!) using the SBo script?
Thanks, once more!

Solution
I know this thread is a couple of weeks old, but I got it to work with a symlink. Leechcraft apparently looks in usr/lib, so I placed a symlink there for the leechcraft folder in usr/lib64. Plugins loaded automatically at startup.

Yep, this works fine here, too! Thanks for sharing this, the issue is SOLVED, now.

Glad to be of help. I'm a pretty do-it-yourself guy. If you like to use leechcraft, I followed the build instructions from their website and was able to get it up and running at version 0.6.70. The SlackBuild is for an out-dated version. Not sure if the maintainer has given up, but the fix could easily be added to the doinstall.sh provided with the SlackBuild.
