Leadtek-PVR2000 installation problems

Hello all,

Im trying to switch completely to linux and the only thing now holding me back is that I cant get my Leadtek-PVR2000 tv tuner card installed. I pretty much have no clue how to do it but I understand linux and am comfortable enough to get anyone who helps the info on my computer they need(just tell me the command to use). The card has the CX 23882 chipset. Any help would be appreciated

Clues here:

I don't know if 2.4. kernel supports this conexant chip, which seems to use a module called cx88.

I'm using IO-DATA GV/BCTV7E (Conexant CX23880/1/2/3 PCI Video and Audio Decoder) with
kernel-2.6.16.11.

cat /usr/src/linux-2.6.16.11/Documentation/video4linux/CARDLIST.cx88 shows following line
5 -> Leadtek Winfast 2000XP Expert [107d:6611,107d:6613]

So, I think your card will work with kernek-2.6.x with cx88xx module and card=5 option.

-------Edit---
Sorry, the above info was wrong.

cat /usr/src/linux-2.6.16.11/Documentation/video4linux/CARDLIST.cx88 shows following line
9 -> Leadtek PVR 2000 [107d:663b,107d:663C]

So, I think your card will work with kernek-2.6.x with cx88xx module and card=9 option.

You can use Patrick's official kernel-2.6.x packages in testing directory
at Slack FTP sites.
