Unhappy kspread: background colors won't be printed

Hi there,

I don't know where to search else. I've got the following problem:

My PC doesn't print the background colors of cells in KSpread. This bug was reported on kde.org back in 2000, indentified as qt bug and solved afaik. KOffice 1.2.1 (-i486-5 from slack 9.1) prints background colors, 1.3.1 (delivered with slackware 10.0) and 1.3.2 (from slackware-current) won't. I've checked all color settings, other programs are fine with printing background colors and I can't see where the problem is.
I'm using CUPS on a HP DeskJet 840C with hpijs drivers and a fresh installed Slackware Linux 10.0. Hopefully anyone can help.

Thanks in advance,

Seppel

Just for know, is it just the color of background that is not printed or all the colors of the document ?

Other colors print fine, it's just the background colors of the cells.

Then from this information, I would think it is only a problem with KSpread, no need to investigate cups or other system service.

Try to check KSpread config, docs, etc...

I have kspread 1.3.2 from here (Go to any mirror, then contrib, Slackware10. My QT 3.3.2, that came with Slack 10.

I tried to print to a PDF, all background colors showed up in the PDF. Try up-ing your QT 1st, and kspread 2nd.

Here's what I did in between:

Updated QT from Slack-current to 3.3.3
Tried koffice-1.3.2-i486-1 from Slack-current
Tried koffice-1.3.2-i486-1pcx from linuxpackages.net
Downloaded the sources, compiled them, installed pcre-4.5-i486-2 from Slack-current (needed to compile koffice 1.3.2), built my own package out of it, installed that.

Nothing helped. Uninstalled my own package and reinstalled koffice-1.2.1-i486-5 from Slack 9.1, which still prints background colors of cells.
I still don't know what to do.

Thanks to everybody trying to help me :-)

Regards,

Seppel
