Krec Record Streaming Audio Slack 12.0

Hi,

I'm trying to record streaming audio but can't get it to work. Any suggestions?

Sincerely,
Soup

What doesn't work? What is the error?

there's no error krec starts up fine, and responds to sound from other sources with sound bars that bounce up and down. I just can't figure out how to set streaming audio from the Internet as the recording source. It's flatlined even though I can hear the music.

I never used krec. You can try mplayer (which I use for audio recording): http://grimthing.com/archives/2004/0...-with-mplayer/

KRec can be a bit of a pain to use, but it can be done...

Make sure the media application is using aRTs for output. In KRec -> Tools -> Audio Manager, click on KRec::In to open the "Available busses" window, select "out_soundcard" then "OK".

You now should be able to record with KRec, but YMMV.

I prefer using something like Audacity, or MPlayer as suggested, or even just saving the stream to file using the appropriate output plugin in Audacious or Amarok.
