kppp - exit code 1
 

hi, i've recompiled my kernel with 2.4.22 source obtained from kernel.org. It's working pretty well (after a few attempts) but kpp exits with exit code 1 after authenticating. I can use penggy (aol) to connect for my 'trial month' with no problems. It seems I may have omitted something from the kernel config as kppp worked fine with the default slack9 kernel.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might be needed or how to find more information on the problem? The modem is a hsf LINmodem ;) using the drivers and kernel modules from (somewhere) and configured using 'hsfconfig'.

Make sure you have the proper parts of your PPP support built in the kernel or loaded as modules.

that's solved it - I've added support for async serial PPP (I thought this was only for com ports) and it works.
