The similar problem is described here ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=577996 . But for Slackware I yet have not found the decision.

I have the same problem on ubuntu gutsy. The linked fix is not the solution, because I have it already, and kopete crashes henceforward, too.
Any idea?

____________

Ubuntu
- Release 7.10 (gutsy)
- Linux 2.6.22-14-generic 2008 i686 GNU/Linux
- Gnome 2.20.1

And kopete with
- Qt: 3.3.7
- KDE: 3.5.8
- Kopete: 0.12.7

Well, since just about everyone in the Universe (at least that I know) uses MSN and not AIM, Jabber, Yahoo!, ICQ, etc. then this isn't a practical solution.

I would suggest using Pidgin, but I can't really help with your Kopete problem (sorry).
