kmail quits with akonadi server self-test errors on slackware -current

I'm trying to run kmail on Slackware -Current. Kmail starts then akonadi server runs checks.
Then follow many errors:

MySQL server log contains errors
Akonadi control process not registered at D-Bus.
Akonadi server process not registered at D-Bus.
No resource agents found.
Previous Akonadi server error log found.

I've reinstalled MySQL and it seems to be working but there is this error repeatedly:

InnoDB: Unable to lock ./ibdata1, error: 11
InnoDB: Check that you do not already have another mysqld process
InnoDB: using the same InnoDB data or log files.

I've done some Google searches but I'm not able to find a solution to get akonadi to work.

@chytraeus

Let me guess

You are trying to run Kmail as root ... Right ...

Well that's the error you are going to get when you run Kmail as root .

Of the topic Why would you want to run your Slackware box as root ?

Anyway , I got No fix for you but suggest creating a normal account with sudo rights and there you go no more errors

regards

Lawrence

Hi,
Actually I'm not running Slackware or Kmail as root but as a normal user.

Did you recently upgrade KDE?

While I can offer no suggestions, something very similar happened to me when I upgraded from KDE 4.4 to KDE 4.6. After trying to figure this out, I wimped out and downgraded KDE back to 4.4.

I am such a wuss.
