kmail broken by latest -current updates?

Yes, I know kmail isn't particularly robust, but I'm stuck with it for historic reasons!

Following the latest batch of updates, no folders were showing in the LH folder panel of kmail. Eventually my IMAP mail folders re-appeared, but the local folders (where my mail is archived) have vanished!

There is a new set of local folders showing - all empty! However, my .local/share/local-mail folder still exists, and has all my mail in it! For some reasons kmail just won't recognise it!

I'm stumped! Any ideas, anyone?

TIA,

Update:

For some reason, kmail isn't looking in the right place for the folders. It is looking in ~/.local/share/.local-mail.directory rather than in ~./local/share/local-mail, as it did previously. It keeps trying to create default folders in .local/share/.local-mail.directory, because it can't or won't find the ones in .local/share/local-mail, and I can't find any way of forcing it to look in the right place.

What has caused this change, and is there anyway to revert to previous behaviour?

Any ideas?

Update 2:

Finally gave up on trying to force Kmail to use the old folders, and copied the entire contents of my local-mail directory into .local-mail.directory! Normal service is now resumed (I hope!).

But I'd still like to know what caused this change. I probably ought to drop a note to Pat as well so that other users are made aware........
